Picture Window Cost UK

A picture window is essentially a large fixed glazed opening with no opening sash. Removing hinges, handles and locking hardware makes the basic product cheaper than an opening window, although very large glass sizes can still push the total upwards.

Quick price answer: Our fixed uPVC examples run from £247–£448 for a small picture window to £378–£687 for a large one. A medium fixed example is £322–£585.

Why fixed windows can cost less

An opening sash adds more than glass area alone.

No opening hardware

A fixed light does not need hinges, espagnolette locking, handles or sash adjustment. That removes components and manufacturing time.

Glass still matters

As dimensions increase, the glass area, frame size and handling requirements rise. A very large fixed pane can therefore still cost more than a small opening window.

Fixed vs opening medium window
