Fixed vs Opening Window Cost

Two windows with the same outer dimensions can cost different amounts because opener hardware and extra sash frames add components and manufacturing time. This is why “price by size” alone cannot fully explain a window quote.

Quick price answer: For a medium uPVC opening, our fixed example is £322–£585, a single-opener example is £357–£649 and a two-opener version is £403–£733.

Why opening windows cost more

The extra price represents real components and fabrication.

More frame sections

An opening sash has its own profile inside the outer frame, plus gaskets and glazing.

Hardware and adjustment

Hinges, locking gear, handles and workshop adjustment are needed for every opening sash.
