Double Doors Cost UK
For external residential openings, “double doors” usually means a pair of hinged French-style doors. That is the basis of this guide. Internal double doors, garage doors and commercial entrance systems are different products and are not priced here.
Quick price answer: A medium pair of fitted uPVC French-style double doors is £1,267–£2,157 in our current model, assuming a like-for-like replacement opening.

The main calculator lets you change the approximate opening size around this baseline.
Figures are modelled UK-average fitted-market estimates from the Window Price Calculator engine, using its 24 September 2026 research refresh. They include ordinary removal, standard fitting, basic making good and VAT; scaffolding, hidden structural repairs and highly bespoke work can sit outside the range.
What is included in the double-door estimate?
The model is intended to resemble a consumer fitted quote rather than a supply-only catalogue price.
Included
Door set, standard double glazing, ordinary removal, standard fitting, basic making good and VAT are reflected in the model.
Not automatically included
Major structural alteration, unusual thresholds, scaffolding, hidden defects, bespoke finishes and building work outside the opening can move the real price beyond the range.
When double doors become more expensive
Several common upgrades change the job.
- Converting an existing window into a full-height door opening.
- Increasing the structural width beyond the existing opening.
- Non-standard colours, decorative glass or specialist security requirements.
- Large side lights or top lights around the door pair.
